It offers good wind protection, and its waterproof features include a second placket protecting the snapped front closure, an extra layer of material on the sleeve forearms and a removable cape with storm flap over the top seam to provide more protection for the shoulders and back. The cape has snapped straps under the arms to prevent the cape from flying up in the wind.

The fantail back of this oilskin coat allows freedom of movement and can be snapped closed or left open depending on the amount of movement you need. I like this coat, it does great at rain, wind. It fit me well. It's well made and comes with replacement button, snaps and anything that would be an issue if broken or lost. I wear mine as an industrial electrician. It dries quite easily. If it came with a removable hood, that would be nice. I would also like for it to have through pockets to get to my jeans pockets. It does not... these two things weren't a deal breaker. I bought it due to being too big for normal rain gear. I'm 6' and 350 lbs. and a 3X. I find it to help in cold weather with warmth. It hits me at mid calf. I wear a hoodie under and was comfortable at 30 degrees snow rain mix. The sleeves are perfect. I've got a 6' wing span. If it weren't for wearing a hard hat, i would definitely get the appropriate hat to match. The pockets are decent size, how it snaps and closes is great. For me, I'm not crazy about the draw string for the waist. It is a bit long, it has been caught a few times so, most likely I will shorten or possibly remove it. I haven't applied new water proofing yet, it doesn't need it. I've got about 40 hours on wearing it. I could see touch ups for that but not for a while. I would definitely buy this again. It does exactly what it says, this and muck boots.. you're going to be dry. This is way better than any rain gear I've ever used , from frog tog to the cheap rain ponchos. I'm pretty sure this will last me to retirement in 3 years and beyond.
