I purchased this for my wife for Christmas. It is also the same unit that they used at my children's' daycare. The base is heavy and should do a great job in preventing the nebulizer part of the unit from tipping over. The glass is somewhat fragile, but should be fine with care. the separate oil well is a great feature, allowing you to add more oil while in operation or to mix your own blend of oils. This uses pure oil, not diluted with water. So, it does use oil relatively quickly, but the fragrance for a long time afterward (I've smelled it up to an hour after only running the unit for just 10 to 15 minutes. Others have mentioned that it is noisy. Well, the pump does hum, but isn't overly noticeable unless you are near it. The nebulizer, itself, does make a bubbly hissing sound and is noticeable, but I would call it more of a white noise sound. The pump is easy to hide since the tubing is long. And, the tubing is also very easy to hide. This unit should outlast any of the one-piece units on the market. If the pump wears out, you can replace it with a good quality aquarium air pump (if you can't find an exact match). If the tubing wears out or get damaged, it's just airline tubing which is also replaceable at any aquarium supply store. Even the glass is replaceable if it get broken. That just leaves the base, but is is solidly build and I doubt it will wear out or damage easy. My wife loves this and it is an incredible value at the price (about half the price of where you will find it elsewhere). We are getting another one for our downstairs. Yes, it is that good.
