These are waaaay more comfortable than the red wing boots I bought. I’m up on my feet 12hrs a day and these made my feet feel like I could go another 12hrs more. Definitely worth it!.I am very happy with these boots and recommend them highly. The leather is supple and seems to be of high quality. The leather welt of the Goodyear welt is normally not available at the price point and with proper leather care will allow for resole numerous times as necessary in the future. There was literally no break-in period, no blisters, no foot pain, and no sweaty socks at the end of a long day outside in Texas building decks in the heat.Week One Usage - Picture above after 1 week wet and dry conditionsDay 1 - 2043 Steps - 1 Mile - home walkingDay 2 - 6277 Steps 2.7 miles - work construction 96FDay 3 - 6411 steps 2.8 miles work construction 98FDay 4 - 8013 steps 3.44 miles work construction 98FDay 5 - 6606 steps 2.85 miles work construction 96FDay 6 - 8696 steps 3.74 miles work construction 94FDay 7 - 8619 steps 3.71 miles work construction 98FI have had numerous brands over the years, Red Wing, Wolverine, Justin, Gravel Gear just to name a few and these are by far the most comfortable. I am looking forward to monitoring and reporting the wear and quality.2 Month UpdateStill very happy with no real boot issues. Sole, welts and uppers all holding up and very comfortable, I clean and condition probably bi-weekly. My only complaint was the shoelaces, did not stay tied well and I have replaced them this weekend with Mercury and Maia Kevlar laces in 72 inches. Data:June 161751 Steps 69.767 MilesJuly 142632 Steps 61.46 Miles1/2 August 78632 Steps 33.88 MilesThe boots have been soaked thru with water, covered in concrete, covered with paint spatter in those 2 months. Never a single blister, I wonder if I could have said that with Red Wings or Thorogood's? Highly recommended.Bought mine and immediately hated them, threw a decent set of insoles in and they fit a lot better. The insoles are just flat junk.I had a pair of rock roosters before I had the pair of plain toes with the wedge. I didn’t really like them. These are amazing. The leather is soft. Super soft. The wedge is comfy it’s nothing spectacular but it fixes what was wrong with my other pair: stiffness. Out of the box these are some nice boots with very comfy specs. The detail on these is nice too. Nice touches. The welt is leather tho I’m not sure I’m crazy about how it was executed still I love a leather welt. My only complaint is the insole. Thickest insole ever. No need for it. I appreciate not putting cardboard insole in there like some major brands but the insole in these needed to be replaced for me which was no problem I have a shoe box full of insoles.Everything about these is great except theyre too wide in the middle. You can only tie them so tight before it looks goofy and even then theyre not quite tight enough, but the length seems good. Definitely consider going down half a size. As a side note, for anyone looking at Rockroosters wondering about the difference between the normal soles and the vibram soles I can tell you that the vibram soles are much lighter. Theyre also a little softer and a little thinner. Having a pair of both I can say they both have their utility but all else being equal i probably go with the vibram ones.First off - a disclaimer: I am retired the most work I do in these boots is around the house and yard. I have worn and continue to wear Carolina and Thorogood boots in the same style I also wear Irish Setter Wingshooter and Chippewa Edge Walker boots. A comfortable boot beats a sneaker for me every time. I also wear the boots for hiking and with casual dress. I decided to give these Rockroosters a try based on price, style and reviews. I have not been disappointed. They are extremely comfortable. The leather is thick but very soft and flexible. There are features found in my more expensive boots. The height is good. They are easy to put on and take off. They are unlined so they are perfect for our hot humid climate. It's hard to beat the price too. I liked them so much, I bought a second pair. Now for the cons: the boots look like the right boot is made in one factory and the left in another. On one pair the moccasin toe ridge comes to the end of the toe on the left boot and about 3/4 inch from the end of the toe. On the same pair the lacing eyelets and hooks don't match up. The eyelets on the right side of the boot are about 1/2 inch higher than the left side. The boot still laces securely. On the other pair, where the tongue attaches to the leather of the toe, there is a large pucker. Using boot oil and a hair dryer, I have been able to relax this area to where it is comfortable. Finally, the soles on these boots are very heavy but well made.Overall, while I think quality control and final inspection need to be improved, I am very satisfied with these sturdy boots. IMHO, given the level of comfort and the price, the buyer can't go wrongExcellent boots feel great I’ve so many kinds of boots but theses are amazing
