I am using 2 of these stools to each hold a slab of petrified wood that we bought in Arizona. The side tables are Beautiful! The wood base is 12" x 12" x 23" as described, and have a deep, rich brown color. The wood grain is visible and adds character and interest. The twist is eye-catching and sturdy. I have decided to order another. The description states that it may have cracks in the wood, but the two I reveived did not have any cracks.
