An assortment of rigid heddle reed sections (each measuring approximately 2.5" wide) in a variety of dents can be inserted into the special rigid heddle frame for different setts in the same reed. The Variable Dent Reeds are a great tool for using thick and thin yarns in the warp, as well as creating different densities in a fabric. I love this item. Very versatile and easy to use. I modified it to work with my Ashford loom. I also ordered another one so that I would have enough pieces to do the same dent all the way across the reed; including these would be a good addition to the product.I was a little disappointed to find that it didn't come with enough cards to fill out the entire reed with each size. I was hoping not to have to buy any more pieces if I wanted to make a 25" project using 12 dent cards but it looks like I will have to. I've made two projects using this reed and the only major frustration is when the cards pop out which happened twice, once was user error due to tension, the second time was while I was flipping my loom open.Like it that I can interchange the reeds but not as secure as I thought it it should be. The reeds are somewhat loose in the frame.Did not have enough panels to fill loom in each size. Size 12 should have been enough to fill the full 15 inchesWhat a great idea for weavers who enjoy making products with different textures.
