This thermometer is great! The casing is extremely well built, and the buttons all have a click/tactile feedback (useful with gloves). The high, low, average, and delta functions are super useful and easy to switch between. The emissivity adjustment makes this a good thermometer for a large range of materials. It scans 2X per second, so it is quick to get reliable averages and deviations. A 9V battery is included in the package, which is a nice touch since they are expensive. Again, very impressed with the quality of the molding and materials. It is well ruggedized, cushioned all around.My only complaint about this tool is the laser is slightly misaligned, so at long distances (12+ ft), it tends to skew to the left a bit. Since I use this for measuring things pretty close to me, it does not matter much.Overall, I think this is probably the best thermometer on the market that balances versatility, quality, and price. I would buy this thermometer again without hesitation.I have never heard of Reed Instruments, but I'd give their other tools a shot too based on the performance of this one.
