Care and Maintenance of Saxophone 1. Take care of the mouthpiece and neck Remove the reed and use a cleaning swab to remove dirt from the mouthpiece and the inside of the neck. 2. Remove the moisture from the pads If the pads are damp, put a piece of cleaning paper between the pad and the tone hole and lightly press the key several times. 3. Clean the inside of the tube Insert a saxophone cleaning swab into the bell and pull it through the neck joint to clean. 4. Remove dirt from the surface Use a polishing cloth to remove finger prints and dirt from the surface of the instrument. 5. Carefully clean the octave key The tone hole of the octave key is small and easily clogged, so clean it with a tone hole cleaner. How to tune the saxophone? Preheat the saxophone by blowing air through it before playing to ensure optimal sound quality. Maintain ideal tuning by covering the interface of the neck cork. Easily adjust pitch by slowly pulling out or pushing in the mouthpiece for the perfect tone. Wet the reed for accurate pitch and tone production.

No brainer for the money sounds excellent feels solid the pads had a professional snap to them. I have played $7,900 Selmer Paris jubilee soprano and this horn sounds at least 50% as good. Do the math. Only question is how long will it last? I noticed a couple screws were almost out when I got it but screwed them back in no problem. Check it carefully before you play to make sure there's nothing like that happening. One BIG issue no tech will work on this horn so you take your chances I'd give it 2 years possibly more if you are very careful to not drop or bang it and check the adjustment screws regularly. For a student it’s a dream horn and the case is so clever the backpack straps are hidden behind a Velcro flap ready in seconds. I got the blue/turquoise one really gorgeous color it looks more like a big name pro horn. Pearl touches (plastic) are scooped and very comfortable. This one is a winner.
