It is known to be rich in the Omega 6 essential fatty acid GLA (gamma-linolenic acid C18:3n-6) and is also a good source of ALA (α-linolenic acid C18:3n-3), an Omega 3 essential fatty acid. I have been using seed oils with great success for the past 14 years.Lord have mercy!I was making a new 16 ounce bottle of moisturizer and poured about 8 ounces of black currant oil in the bottle along with 2 other ingredients.The black currant oil apparently is naturally stinky... Terribly stinky.I added Plumeria oil to it to overcome the stink. It worked and I have been able to enjoy the moisturizing benefits of the black currant oil. For some reason, it takes a LONG TIME to use this up. Last night I had to throw the 16-ounce mixture away.After 3 months of experience with this, my recommendation is make a 4-ounce mixture instead of a 16 ounce one. Add a natural antimicrobial to the mixture so that it doesn't spoil, thus making your skin break out.I buy both my plumeria oil and natural antimicrobial drops here on Amazon.
