Ok so, ignore the round wood piece. That's something my husband and I added to it to help anchor this light better to the ceiling, as the light fixture that was in our bathroom before was an odd size and left a bigger hole than standard light would. Overall this light was stupid easy to install and it looks amazing. The wire shades it comes with are straight metal. They don't feel cheap or flimsy. The wires are super long but can be adjusted to any length you'd like. I sized them down drastically and was able to coil the excess length of the wire inside the casing itself just fine. It just takes some finnesing. They're a bit larger than I expected but that's my fault for not measuring. I kind of jumped the gun and bought these since it matched the vanity wall lights in our bathroom and there was a used one available for over half off the original value price. Considering it was "used" and half price, this thing came in looking brand new. The only fault it had was the box it came in was tore up and taped over a bunch. But I'm assuming that's why it was half off so I can't complain there.
