OK, I admit, it took MONTHS to install this shower head- my fault. I have a 1950 cottage in the country with dated (but great) plumbing and a well. Tried cheaper shower heads but when I got a puppy and needed a longer hose, I researched the THOUSANDS of styles. Settled on this one and my only regret (and it is BIG) is that I didn't install it the very second received. When the parts are in your hand, you feel the old-fashioned, assured quality. The hose brought back memories of what one REALLY SHOULD BE. It took me ten minutes to unpack and install (I am a 66 year old lady). The experience when I turned it on? AAAAHHHHH....FINALLY! REAL pressure and an even, non-cutesy spray pattern. Don't need all those weird styles, just one that WORKS. Support America, support the REAL experience and quality of long ago. I look forward to bathing my puppy now that I actually have water and within easy reach! Hurrah!I've had my eyes on this shower head for awhile. I bought another brand locally for the sole reason of easy returns. Got it home and it was so plastic-y feeling that I didn't even try to install; I just returned it. Decided to bite the bullet and order two Hammerheads.After 2 weeks of the boxes sitting on my bathroom vanity, I finally screwed up the courage to install them in my double shower today. To my surprise, no tools at all were needed. All the parts are nicely wrapped in bags. All the threads were even protected with plastic caps to avoid any damage in shipping! Plumbers tape was included.Twisted off the only shower heads. I ran a little water through the pipe and cleaned off all the old tape. Then, installed the first Hammerhead Handheld Shower head according to the simple instructions. LOTS more water pressure than before. I was so happy and went after the other one. To my surprise, I noticed the pipe was almost clogged when I took the old shower head off. Had to dig out a bunch of black gunk with an old toothbrush. Ran some water to finish the clean out and install the new Hammerhead. This one had even better water pressure!!?? Decided to go back to the first one and look at that pipe more closely. Sure enough, it had a little bit of clogging too. Now, I have the best shower head pressure I've ever had. I also checked them very closely for leaks and there were none! All I did was tighten all the connections by hand.Honestly, I don't know if the unclogging of the pipe caused the better water pressure or if it's the shower head. Maybe a combination of both? However, I do like these shower heads more than any other one I've used. The shower head is bigger and lighter than I was expecting. My original concern is that a metal head would break my faux marble if I dropped the head against the shower bench. While the head is very sturdy, I don't think it's heavy enough to do damage. The connection that holds the shower head is solid, heavy metal that I seriously will break. The hose is very nice and plenty long. I saw another review that the shower handle can get hot. I can see where that could happen, but I only hold it when I'm cleaning the shower or washing the dogs with a cooler water.Happy with my purchase and will purchase another one for the other bathroom. My only complaint is that I tried a different brand first and waited so long to install. Don't be me -- buy it and install it immediately. This all metal (including the hose) shower head is perfect. The longer 72” hose ensures I can rinse all of her without having to move her around in the shower chair. The packaging was the first indication of quality. It came with everything required for a quick and easy installation. The 2.5gpm provides a shower with great water pressure without stinging your skin. Some reviews mentioned the hose rusting. Given the hose is metal, I can understand the rusting. In an attempt to eliminate rusting of the hose, I let it hang to the floor when I’m done. This allows water to drain out of the hose. I then merely hang it in the bracket when I’m leaving the bathroom. It is not inexpensive, however, in my opinion it is a quality product and worth the asking price.Justin, thank you for producing a quality product at an affordable price.I've bought several shower heads over the years. Most of them were made by Waterpik. All of them were plastic. All of them failed much too soon. Most of them were glued together so that if you tried to disassemble them to repair them, they simply broke. I rarely ever used any of the "58" functions. 99.9% of the time I used the full shower head setting. My least favorite feature about those shower heads was that their flow was restricted to 1.5 GPM. Many of them aerated the water flow so that you got a lot of air with a little bit of water. This "feature" required me to shower for a longer period of time, thus using more water, to adequately rinse soap and shampoo. I removed the flow restrictors out of most of them. Other shower heads forced the tiny amount of water at such a high velocity that it felt like I was being pelted with needles. Ouch!I bought the 2.5 GPM Hammerhead shower head and could not be more pleased. The water flow is all water, no air and no nonsense. The force is quite strong, but not overpowering. I'm now taking shorter showers because this shower head rinses soap and shampoo so quickly. I feel cleaner and much more refreshed after using this shower head than with the cheap, plastic junk of the past. I look forward to this one lasting for many years to come. The limited lifetime warranty shows that Justin stands behind his product.Justin, thank you again for making such a great product!I bought this because it was 100 percent metal, no abs plastics. I have suffered for 4 years off and on with breathing issues after I shower and hives. I thought as many people do that it was the water that was the problem. Turns out I have mast cell activation syndrome And one of my triggers is plastics. I figured out the shower problem as when I took a bath I was fine, but showering would cause me to feel like I had too much co2 in my lungs for about 3 hours after. I took a chance that this would solve my problem and it is 100 percent solved with this shower head. This may seem uncommon to you, but I think plastics are much more hazardous to people with over active immune systems. They are classified as xenoestrogens, or fake estrogens. Do you know how they figured out bps in plastics was hazardous? The men working in the manufacturing plants grew breasts!Beautiful and solid design, has just a touch less pressure than would be preferable, but is still plenty enough to be a pleasant shower experience. Only issue is the design choice to 'restrict' the flow with the strange narrowing of the handle right before the chamber behind the nozzles. Feel like this tiny adjustment (Why not make it even to the head?) reduces the pressure of the water just a touch, which creates a sort of weakened rainfall effect.Other than that tiny issue (Of which most will be fine with, may even prefer, so don't let review detour you) this is an amazing shower system. All pieces were included, assembled by hand easily, and the flow constrictor was easily removed, (speaking about the plastic piece in the base of unit, not the one in handle's design)I would 100% recommend this showerhead system to anyone seeking an alternative to buying a new shower every 6 months because that one stupid piece of plastic breaks.Excellent quality and value. (Paid 72 for chrome version)When they started making plastic showers 20 years ago, it felt fancy.But very soon you'd realize that they were not better. They were cheap, disposable products that were not pleasant to use and required frequent replacements. Even prime brands switched to plastic junk.It seems the maker of this shower head was fed up with the lack of quality shower heads on the market.It is all metal. It is a very solid build. Anti-calc rubber nozzles produce very pleasant sprays, you can finally feel you are actually in a shower again.Buy this for all your bathrooms and never go back. I'm super happy, and I wish the maker of this shower head every success in his business!Pros:-Simple design-Eco-friendly, reusable packaging-Removable restrictor valve (much appreciated!)-Full-bodied water jet (especially without restrictor valve)-Included washers and Teflon tapeCons-Provided washers are too thin. Makes for leaky connections. I had to go out and buy name-brand washers. Then it was all good.I'm overall quite pleased. I'll keep this showerhead until it dies on me, if ever.I really like this shower head. It is well built, and it is truly completely metal. It won’t give you blasting pressure (restrictor removed) like some of the plastic shower heads with multiple options do, but it creates a nice rainfall type experience with a great amount of water coming out of the nozzles; It’s drenching and enveloping.The shower head lost three full stars was because Hammerhead Showers charges made in America pricing on a made in China item. They’re proud enough to note that they’re US owned and the product is US designed, but they’re not proud enough to have it manufactured in the US. It’s a shame.
