Ever since I saw the first Dyson hair dryer, I’ve wanted one. But . . . Not bad enough to pay what they cost. I’ve played with them in a store and they are pretty darn cool but I could never see the value. I had the opportunity to try this hair dryer out and I get that same cool vibe. The dryer is compact and has a premium feel in your hand. The dryer switches on and off with a mechanical sliding switch. It power on in low speed every time. You hold the speed selector down for a moment and it speeds up. There are a total of three speeds. There is not any choices on heat other than on or off. At first I expected this would be a negative but in everyday use, It has not bothered me. The one other control is for the “cool shot” or air flow without heat. You hold the button down for a moment and the heat is off. Repeat the procedure to turn it back on.This dryer is QUIET! My old dryer had a loud whine or motor noise. The only thing you hear with this dryer is the rush of the air. It is much more pleasant to use. If you listen to the radio while you use your dryer like I do, you will definitely appreciate the difference. The dryer has “Ion Reset Technology.” I don’t know what that is and I don’t have any comment on it. It also has red light therapy and a scalp massaging attachment that is supposed to promote hair growth. While I could definitely benefit from some hair regrowth, I haven’t tried the scalp massage feature yet. The red light therapy is on anytime the heat is on so I’ve been getting that for the short time I use it every day. That brings me to the best part of this dryer for me. It actually dries your hair fast. Compared to the old dryer I was using, this dryer produces a noticeably stronger air stream and in a compact pattern. It dries my hair fast and I think maybe even adds a little volume to it. It’s definitely superior to my old dryer. It comes with a LONG cord which might be valuable if the outlet is not right where you want to use it. The cord is quite a bit longer than the one on my old dryer. It’s also a better quality cord. While the dryer is not inexpensive, it’s also not as expensive as the Dyson. It seems to be priced similar to other dryers of similar design. I really like it.
