I wasnt fond of the 2 gaps on the C7 bumper. It just felt like some GM accountant decided that it was too expensive to add the diffusers when it adds a TON to the look of the vehicle. I watched the Corvette Channel video and it looked pretty straight forward but i'd seen a few installs with this kit that weren't exactly aligned the way i thought looked best. So while i did use the templates as a rough guide, i decided to use a blue glass marker and 3M Super Strength Auto molding tape to get them aligned to my liking. Once you drill it, it is what it is, love it or hate it. With 2 small squares of tape on each end, i mocked it up and got all 4 aligned perfectly. I marked the bumper and fins to make sure i was able to align them back 100% where i had them. I then cleaned the fins and bumper with acetone, and added 2 layers of 3M molding tape to the inside of the fins. One layer isnt quite enough, 2 was perfect... however, dont run the top layer all the way to the end of the fins. This will allow the ends to butt up flush with the bumper. It took a while to get them set, but i can tell you, any worry about them falling off disappeared when i saw how crazy that tape holds. Needless to say, dont put it in the wrong spot! I've been through touchless carwashes, rain, bumps, highway rumble strips, etc and they still hold as fast as the day i set them.
