It is non-corrosive to soft yellow metals (brass, bronze, copper, etc.) and synchronizer safe. This is our second gear oil change since we changed our gear ratio from 4:10 to 4:88 and Royal Purple has worked flawlessly to protect the new gear set. Of course we used conventional gear oil during the break in but then swapped to full synthetic. 75W90 is recommended in the front axle of JL Wranglers and 75w140 in the rear axle for towing....it's cheap insurance! The quality is more than just a nice bottle and Purple color it also ensures uniform lubrication to reduce gear wear and noise.
