Pros, I ordered around Christmas time and it got there a day early.This lamp does a good job for us.Cons- -I had to install in a corner, the screws that hold on the base plate were hard to get to. ( Suggestion- Put Screws on top of base plate ) - The switch on the bottom of the lamp is smooth. ( Suggestion- Put some grooves on the switch to be easier for person to grip and turn it on or off.)Cons on Search engine - I already knew that I wanted a Plug in type lamp ( no way that I found to limit search) - I had a range of length of how far I wanted the lamp to extend ( no way that I found to limit search) - I wanted the switch to be near the light bulb as oppose to the base of lamp ( no way that I found to limit search)Therefore - I spent a long time searching on this product.Gets the job done but even. But with 150watt blub not very brightThis is a nice little lamp. it was easy to install and comes pre-wired for plug-in. It also came with the wire nuts and instructions for hardwired installation. The backplate is dual purpose can be mounted directly on the wall (after removing the grounding nut) or connected to a 4" round wall box. the lamp cord it comes with is a clear jacket with silver colored wire. I would personally have preferred a brown cord to match the oiled bronze finish. the cord concealer is also a little shorter than I'd like. It's 15" where as an 18 or even 24" would have suited my needs a little better.I'd like to point out.. at least on my monitor, this lampshade looks like it's a tan or dark beige color. it is not. it is an almost iridescent gold color. However when lit, it glows exactly how I imagined it would from the picture.I needed reading wall lamps for my bedroom, and wanted something that will go with most types of styles, understated and practical. I ordered two Kenroy Home 21011BS Sheppard Wall Swing Arm Lamp, Brushed Steel. They shipped quickly, but one of them arrived opened, uneven metal base, crooked fitting. A replacement arrived and in the new, the switch was broken and it would not switch on or off. The electrician charged me the second visit, because obviously it was not his fault that he had already come twice for the installation and still could not work.These lamps are Made in China. They look really good, good lampshade size, pretty nice swing arm, but the quality of its manufacturing is obviously not up to the standard.You get what you pay for, but I am sure that they could manufacture this product with a decent quality with only a little control. I guess that if you finally manage to receive a "good" unit, these lamps could work. They look more expensive than they are.Check well the packages and contents before you discard the boxes -or call your electrician.Taste is subjective, of course; but I find the lamp very attractive. It sits on a table at one end of a sofa in our small study. The three-way switch is very useful, I think, if you use an efficient bulb. The lamp has to be assembled; but it went well for me. Everything seemed to be made with care and "came together" easily and attractively. It has sufficient weight that it would take considerable clumsiness to tip it over. The packaging was very well-done. I like the lamp very much.I scored a great deal on this item- sold from the Amazon returns warehouse at half price because "the box was damaged"- item arrived expediently in, yes, a damaged box. The lamp was in perfect condition, however! I didn't even need directions to figure out how to mount it to the wall. The lamp shade is high quality and the brushed steel has a rich, classy look. My only critique is that there is no matching cover for the cord. I'll probably end up taping over the cord and painting to match my wall, but an included brushed steel rod cover would have been fab. Overall, it's a great product, especially if you can get it half-price!Nice lamp ... Good qualityWe didn't want to spend a lot of money on wall lamps so we chose these, which are down at the low end of the price range. They aren't the highest quality lamps (metal is quite thin) but they look really good on our bedroom wall. Simple and elegant. Installation was a bit tricky (getting them exactly level) but I'm satisfied.Overall looks great. Mounting base when screwed to the wall, twisted, making it somewhat difficult to mount the fixture to the base. And the lamp arm is stiff, but hopefully will loosen up with use. We are pleased with the look.Used for bedroom night light . Easy to install, and seems very sturdy. Nice look for bedroom...
