The station comes with a base which should be filled with sand or gravel and a plug to seal the station. The Air diffuser station is designed to allow for multiple possible configurations to run air. It can be installed with rigid PVC pipe or poly air tubing, a 3/4"-1/2" barbed fitting is included. (edit) After running this diffuser constantly for a year and a half it became almost completely plugged. I removed it from the pond and soaked it in muriatic acid as suggested on the internet. It remained plugged. I've attempted to contact DreamPond by phone and email to get their recommendation to clean it. They don't answer their phone or respond to emails. So I guess customer support isn't just bad, it's non existent. (original review) Don't bother buying an air pump for you pond without an air diffuser. I paired this up with the Danner 04520 in my 2500 gallon pond and the air delivered is perfect. The koi are happy and it swirls the debris that used to settle to the bottom into the filter.
