I’ve had it up for a few months now and has held up well, no problems. Sheer enough to let some light through and enough to also block the direct sunlight and heat. Looks modern, gives privacy and better than the old vertical blinds. I will buy more for my other big windows.Love this adjustable sliding panel semi-sheer. It was fairly easy to install, of course, my hubby is very good at figuring out the hows and dos... I love the different look from those "vertical blinds". These are very affordable as well. My only "con 'for these is the "white" is not as white as I expected. Compare to my white walls, it looks a little more on the off-white side. But I decided to keep it for now. I am looking for another one for my other patio door. But I need a semi-sheer on the light to medium gray. I would recommend these to anyone who wants to modernize the look of their doors or windows.If you take your time with the template the install is easyI wanted the panel to go inside the door frame but the space wasn’t 2.5 inches deep to accommodate the rail. So I took a 1x3 and cut it down to size. I attached the hardware on the lumber and then attached it to the inside top of the door frame. I spaced it about 1/2 in out from the frame so I had wriggle room to attach the rail. Perfect fit. Next I attached the shades and lined them up to make sure they were all straight. I left them hanging while I trimmed the length. I used the metal piece that attaches at the bottom of the panel as a guide. Pushing the shade against the back of the door frame and the floor- making sure it is still straight - I used a straight edge razor to make a clean cut along the top of the metal guide. All the panels are the perfect length and level at the bottom. Lastly, I cut a 1x2 board and attached it with command Velcro strips to the side of 1x3. It hides the hardware and gives it a polished look. I used Velcro so I could have access to the shades easily. I will paint or stain it to match the door frame. I am happy with the purchase. It took time and patience, but worth it in the end.I was afraid this would be a cheap fix, but I've been pleasantly surprised at the quality of this item.We have many pets, and I have allergies. I will not get curtains! These blinds though, they look clean and sleek, hold up to daily use on our back sliding door, and even the cats have no intention to destroy it. I can't wait to get more.Replaced some curtains with these and I am quite happy. Very easy to put together and install, less annoying than blinds, don’t bunch up like curtains. Good for letting a little light and breeze in while still maintaining privacy. Quite pleased overall.Great quality and easy to use and installPatio door
