Our grates are sold separately from our drain assembly kits and come in a variety of stylish designs with either a chrome/brass, brushed nickel, or bronze finish. Most of the focus on shower styles tend to be on the fixtures delivering the water. Draining the water from the wet-area is equally as crucial. Square drains, in most cases, provide a cleaner more linear look than standard circular drains. Shower and tub drain installation is not an incredibly tough job, so long as you do your research before you attempt to set everything up. Understanding what type of wet-area pan and drainage you have will assist you in understanding which wet-area drainage system is right for you. An important thing to remember when installing this DIY drain grate is that you will need to design/install the tiles in such a way that they slope towards the drain in order to best guide the water into it. This drain grate can be installed in a drain grate housing/riser that is compatible with Oatey, Ebbe, or Oasi drain housings. With a drain kit, you’ll have everything you need to install this drain grate. Or finish your bathroom remodel by installing this drain grate in a 4" housing that fits into a drain flange or clamping ring hub. Note: the grate is 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" and goes in a 4" housing for a 4" drain. This is a very nicely finished piece of stainless steel. Its heavy and good quality. The original ebbe uses a plastic sub-frame which disintegrated after 10 years. This unit just sits on the lip of the plastic drain and fits very nicely. It is flush with the floor. It is thick and strong enough not to require a sub-frame. I would highly recommend if replacing an ebbe.
