After burning through several top tank models that within weeks begin leaking out all over the floor, I have to say I'm impressed with this design. I like the humidity control, I like that it does not have to be taken apart to fill, the UV light is a nice touch if you're not using distilled water, and most people have assumed it was a decoration, not a humidifier. The little aquarium tree included is a nice touch. My grandchildren are convinced that I should put fish in it (no, I won't be doing that) ?After nearly a month of almost continuous use, it has finally succeeded in maintaining a pretty constant 50% humidity in approximately 1100 square feet of space. The output of this design, even as it uses a similar piezoelectric humidifier among similar top tank models, has provided enough flow and at such a strength that it had easily consumed two gallons of water in a 24-hour period during these several weeks. Just in the past week I've noticed it maintaining a humidity level and shutting down and then turning back on automatically. It operates in 5% increments, reaching 55%, but then going into sleep mode until humidity reaches 50%, then automatically resuming.The ability to fill it from the top while running is quite fantastic. It has actually run out of water two or three times during these weeks, and then shuts down. I have used the oil tray a couple of times, and it works quite well without any mess. I can barely hear it run standing next to it, and given that this is above another floor, I am not able to hear it running when I'm in the basement. It is the most reliable continuous humidifier I have ever dealt with.
