I had no problems with installation or any real concerns. It's a simple pickup tube that bolts to the housing using one of the housing bolts. Clearances at the bottom of the pan seem to be perfect (5qt pan). I took apart the m55hv pump, did the usual stuff to it, bolted it back together with the new pickup, and installed the pump. I primed the oil via the distributor with a drill and oil pressure is great. I wouldn't consider this a racing product by any means, but for your "above average" build this is a decent product. For installation, put the pickup in the freezer for a while before you start pressing it in. It will go much easier.
