With its innovative “snap in” technology, the CeilingMAX grid system easily mounts to any surface — gaining headroom, flexibility and offers time-saving installation. Made of easy-to-cut, high-grade PVC, CeilingMAX is available in a wide range of colors and finishes. CeilingMAX doesn’t rust or show scratches and fastens directly to joists, plaster or drywall with no need for wires or leveling. The grid system accommodates any standard 2’x2’ or 2’x4’ acoustical ceiling tile measuring up to ¾" thick and saves up to 6" of headroom in basements or other low ceiling areas. Attach Wall Brackets and Top Hangers After measurements and room prep, there are 5 simple steps to installing your CeilingMAX grid system. Step 1: Attach the Wall Brackets. The 8-foot Wall Brackets are installed around the perimeter of the room. Using drywall screws, the Wall Brackets are mounted to the floor joists or finished ceiling. Step 2: Fasten the Top Hangers. The Top Hangers come in 8-foot lengths and are installed perpendicular to the floor joists using drywall screws. Install Cross Tees Step 3: Install Cross Tees. Install the remainder of the Top Hangers, utilizing the 23-inch Cross Tees as spacers. Using the components together is a quick and easy way to ensure a seamless and accurate measurement between rows of Top Hangers. Don’t need a full Top Hanger or Cross Tee? The CeilingMAX grid components are made of vinyl. Simply cut the components down to size with a tin snips! Insert Ceiling Tiles The CeilingMAX system works with any standard 2ft x 2ft or 2ft x 4ft ceiling tile. Step 4: Installing Tiles. When the Top Hangers and Cross Tees are properly assembled, the Cross Tees will rock from side to side. Simply rock the cross tee as you set the tile in place. Snap Runners into Hangers Step 5: Snap in the Runners. The Runner is an 8-foot component that essentially locks your grid system in place. This component is designed to snap in AND out of the Top Hanger. Need to remove a tile after you’ve completed your ceiling? Not a problem! Simply unsnap the Runner from the Top Hanger and remove the tile. When finished with your work, slide the tile back in place and snap the Runner back into the Top Hanger.
