I use the saw to remove bamboo. Bamboo is hard on the chain. I have about 90 hours on this saw. I did have to have a replacement chain tightener. Skil sent one promptly. The battery will last about 30 minutes under continuous operation. The battery also charges quickly as advertised. The saw will actually cut oak easier than it cuts the bamboo. On normal tree limbs up to seven inches, it cuts quickly and cleanly. The oiler does an adequate job of keeping the chain lubricated. I have replaced the chain six times. I sharp in the chains on average, 6 times each. I have put this all through a grueling test. My favorite thing about this saw is the chain tightener. It is quick and easy to tighten the chain. When the battery runs down, I use the time to clean the bar and maintain the saw. If and when the saw wears out, I will buy another.
