This review is from a 56-year old gal whose skincare focus is hyrdration, collagen/elastin production and pigmentation issues. I am always on the hunt for new ingredients and non-traditional skin care products. This moisturizer by Monastery is very, very unique.First, there really isn’t much online about the product or even on the box itself. I had to go to the manufacturers site to find the directions. You see, it is clear and wax based; not cream based. So I wasn’t sure when to apply it. Yes, it goes on in the PM. Use a little if you plan to also apply a heavier moisturizer or A LOT as a stand alone overnight mask.Also, it appears the ingredients vary. The ingredients listed on my box are different than I found on the Monastery site and other sites. I wasn’t concerned about this being fake because the Monastery site does say that ingredients vary.Now about the product - because it has more of a wax texture; not cream, it does not wear like a standard overnight moisturizer. It feels light on my face, yet my face still felt very moisturized - if that makes sense. It does have the scent of roses - but not obnoxious. You will need a beauty spatula to spoon out the product - and disappointedly, for the price, Monastery does not include one.I plan to incorporate once a week at first - see how my skin takes to this different type moisturizer. For the most part, I can pronounce all the ingredients - which is a bonus.The price - YIKES! Years ago, I started using KBeauty because I loved all the non-traditional Eastern ingredients - and the prices were way more manageable for my budget. Although I look forward to incorporating the Monastery Floral Repair Moisturizer into my PM routine, the price would prohibit me buying it in the future.
