Product Description

4 Gallons of Ipe Oil Plus 250 V.O.C. Hardwood Deck Finish. An oil-based natural wood finish specifically designed for use on exterior hardwood decks. Ipe Oil Plus can deliver up to 15% longer-lasting results! It has all of the same features and qualities of the original Ipe Oil and is a complementary option for anyone needing a little more protection from harsh weather and U.V. damage. Ipe Oil Plus is an oil-based hardwood stain exclusively formulated to dry properly on exotic hardwoods such as Ipe, Tigerwood, Mahogany, Cumaru and also many other oily exotic and North American hardwoods that trigger finish drying trouble for other brand names. Ipe Oil Plus Hardwood Deck Finish features a special formulation for exotic hardwood decking and hardwood siding to ensure exceptional protection with very little rising of the wood grain. It stabilizes and nourishes hardwoods from within. Home-owners and Pro contractors appreciate the elegance of well-maintained hardwood deck or the sleek surface of hardwood rainscreen siding. Ipe Oil Plus Hardwood Deck Finish may be used only on exterior hardwoods to enhance the wood’s natural beauty. Ipe Oil Plus is easy-to-use with three simple steps: 1. Clean and Brighten the deck surface and let dry 2. Apply Ipe Oil Plus Hardwood deck finish 3. Wipe any excess Ipe Oil. I used DeckWise's cleaner, brightener, and ipe oil products on my ipe screened-in porch to pretty good effect, both inside and out. (Scrubbing and scrubbing again with the cleaner is the key, I concluded.) After that, the ipe oil did a nice job, as well. Take seriously what the directions say about wiping up excess oil that hasn't absorbed in 20 minutes -- not just puddling, but anything that looks damp. I wasn't particularly liberal applying the stuff, but even at that it took several days before the wood not exposed to direct sunlight was truly dry enough to walk on without tracking shoeprints into the house, and only then after I went around with a rag and gave it one last rubdown to absorb the last little bits of unabsorbed oil. All in all, I'm pleased with the results. My 14' x 20' porch, complete with railing and about 100 stiles, and the indoor and outdoor sides of the structure for the screening consumed just less than one can. I'd gone with the four cans expecting that I'd use a bit more than a can and have enough left over to do it all again in a year or two. Now I think I'm probably good for three more cycles of finishing.
