Solid wood (not particle board), well built, and a good value for the price. Three of the seven hooks are not attached and this is where the holes that attach to the wall are located (16 inches apart to match typical stud spacing). I bought two of these for my back hall (one at adult height, one at kids height) and am very satisfied.
