Taste is subjective, of course; but I find the lamp very attractive. It sits on a table at one end of a sofa in our small study. The three-way switch is very useful, I think, if you use an efficient bulb. The lamp has to be assembled; but it went well for me. Everything seemed to be made with care and "came together" easily and attractively. It has sufficient weight that it would take considerable clumsiness to tip it over. The packaging was very well-done. I like the lamp very much.
