A Genuine Toyota Part
The pipe assembly appears genuine, but was not packaged in the original Toyota-imprinted retail box. Instead it was packaged in a plastic bag sealed with scotch-tape. Definitely not a retail packaging. There was a Toyota-branded sticker on the bag that appeared genuine. The pipes are soldered (not welded) together at the seams and to the flanges. I have seen pictures of parts sold as OEM with both welded and soldered seams. Not sure if that is any evidence of OEM vs. aftermarket. The quality appeared good, although a couple of small divots were observed on the flat surface of one flange, similar to what another buyer pointed out. Flanges were covered with plastic lids for protection. The part fit nicely in place. No issues with accessing the bolts and nuts with proper tools. Upon installation I did not observe any leaks, at least on the initial testing. The part does not include gaskets. The part number for a set of pipes with gaskets is 04004-29131 and may be much cheaper than buying pipes and gaskets separately.Installation tips: You will need to remove 2 studs at least on one flange (not mentioned in the repair manual procedure). A 6mm hex socket works well for that if you do not have a proper female torx socket. Remove the A/C bracket (2 bolts) to get access to the flange on the engine side (also not mentioned in the repair manual). A universal joint swivel socket adapter and a set of socket extenders makes the job much easier.
