I purchased this product to replace a potentiometer type sender on my boat which had failed. Upon arrival I immediately noted the robustness and quality of construction with the metal components made of stainless steel to avoid possible corrosion from water in the fuel. Also, since there is no mechanical connection between the plastic float and the metal tube it rides on there is not much to fail. It installed easily and quickly, directly replacing, without any modification other than splicing the wires, the previous sender unit. It came with a new gasket and screws with silicone seals to prevent gasoline fumes from leaking into the bilge and engine compartment. Best of all it worked flawlessly. It costs a bit more than the standard potentiometer type sending units but I think the extra cost is worth the improved reliability its simplified construction should provide.
