Easily the best shower head I've ever owned, maybe the best I've ever tried which would include those in hotels, spas, etc. Four great, distinct spray types in an intuitive, user-friendly showerhead that looks fantastic, is a snap to install, can be easily modified (if you want to remove the flow regulator), and is built to exacting Kohler standards (and it shows) for under $60? Seriously, what's not to love? The only consistent issue I see in glancing over the reviews all seem to be pressure-related. Current national energy policy act (EPAct) standards mandate that all showerheads manufactured in the U.S. have a maximum flow rate of 2.5 gpm (9.5 lpm). The Kohler Flipside is rated at this maximum level and requires that amount of flow in order to work properly. In areas where pressure is higher than the 2.5 GPM rating, flow is reduced by means of a flow regulator which comes already installed but which are usually quite easy to remove. Of course, just because Kohler says the showerhead needs 2.5 GPM flow to operate properly doesn't mean that your water supply is able to provide water at that rate.I have above average water pressure and I initially installed and used the Flipside knowing full well that the flow rate would be trimmed down to 2.5 GPM by the flow restrictor. Personally I thought it was great at that pressure. That said, naturally I was curious as to what it would be like without the regulator so I went ahead and removed...WOW! Seriously, I have to keep the water turned way down. If I had a larger shower enclosure I could see there being a use for so much added pressure but in a standard 3" x 4" shower it's completely over the top. Here are the four sprays offered by the Flipside:Koverage™ (Round Side #1): delivers full-coverage spray for everyday showering.Kotton™ (Flat Side #1): What Kohler calls a "Soft Silk Spray" is my hands-down favorite. The water is forced through a metal screen with hundreds of the tiniest holes you've ever seen which turn the water into countless micro-droplets that create "a dense, luxurious downpour of water" and yes it's dense but it doesn't feel heavy.Komotion™ (Round Side #2): spray delivers a soothing, circular water pattern. If you remove the flow regulator and you have good or above average water pressure this will not be soothing it will be VERY invigorating. Trust me. LOL.Kurrent™ (Flat Side #2): spray offers a targeted massage to ease away aches and pains. Ditto the above with regards to the flow regulator. This setting is very intense if you have above average water pressure. This is a great fixture from a company that is obsessed with quality. I have one of Kohler's original Falling Water wall-mount faucets in my bathroom. Many years ago I remember swallowing hard as I spent what seemed to me an obscene amount of money on a faucet. Guess what? It's one of the best purchases I ever made and so far I'm equally pleased with this Kohler showerhead.
