I didn't realize other fans have hum until I stayed at a hotel with an AC fan and realized just how nice and quiet my DC fan was.Remote is setup nice and easy to use.Energy efficient. For something that is going to run for hours, this is very impotent and the prime factor in choosing this fan.6 Speeds!!Cons:The central "motor" is a big pumpkin. It's quite large, just for looks. In a small room, it makes the fan look quite large.Blows air directly down, not out. I installed it in my bedroom with an 8 foot ceiling. The amount of air flow difference standing directly below the fan, and 3 feet off to the side is substantial. I may have to move my bed or move the fan so I can get some airflow on hot days.Summery:It's a ceiling fan. It does what it should and saves electricity doing it. I would not recommend it for an 8 foot ceiling due to it's size and air flow direction. For everything else, it's great.
