Reed & Barton Crystal Double Old Fashioned Glasses Set of 4 - Elegant Whiskey & Cocktail Drinking Glasses for Home Bar, Parties & Gifts

Perfect decanter to showcase a favorite liquor or just for an elegant decoration. The crystal is heavy and without flaws. I liked that there was no cheap rubber stopper on the bottle topper. Makes an impressive gift.I wanted a (single) old fashioned set for mixed drinks (fill one of these up with a genuine margarita and someone's gonna need a ride). Alas, after all the apparent controversy, these are actually double old fashioned glasses. For those who want to know, a single old fashioned glass won't be more than about 3.5" tall and 3" across and have a 7-10 ounce capacity. The ones I received (4) had "Slovania / Reed and Barton," and "Soho/Double Old Fashioned/Slovania/Full Lead Crystal" stickers. They are 3.25in across the top, 4" tall. The glasses have a relatively thick bottom, with relatively thin sides--thinner than the glass rim of a small pickle (and Trader Joe's dijon mustard jar) and about the same thickness as on of my not-so-delicate (glass) wine stems. The outside is straight, the inside wall becomes thicker in proportion to the "cuts" in the glass. I put "cuts" in parentheses because they have been flame-sprayed (I presume) to the point where one might think that the decoration was molded -- not that there are any signs of being molded anywhere in/on the glasses. Nice glass, very clear, sparkly, and without color. I'd definitely buy them for myself or as a gift.this glasses are good quality and they will be a great birthday giftI'm pretty happy with these glasses. I have the Reed and Barton highball and rocks glasses, and I went with the martini glasses as well. Nice weight, sides are steep enough to keep from sloshing too much (this is an under appreciated consideration) and the lip of the glass is thin and crisp. The only downside is that, at 8 oz, they're just a bit too big. A typical 75 ml (2.5 oz) pour (pre-stir) gets just a bit lost in there. But making it big enough to fit right lets it get too warm before finishing.The olive picks are silly. Too big, not sharp enough. If you want them, go buy the mixed pick set elsewhere on Amazon. I like mine.Overall, nice glassware, and I'm going to be buying a full set of 8, but I'll buy the ones without the picks. If they were 7.5 oz, they'd be five stars. Your mileage may varyA friend of mine was in need of some quality crystals for his liquid gold. Having owned my own for a long while I knew I had to stick with quality, so I went with Reed & Barton. These are quality. Don't go for the fake "lead-free bull", crystal is glass made with lead. Quality and strong, will taste how it ought to.Or go for regular glass, but these crystals are worth it. My buddy loved these old fashionsI was really excited to order this for my husband's birthday. We had been to Scotland on our honeymoon and he really developed a taste for whisky. Unfortunately, the decanter arrived in several pieces. The outside brown box came perfectly intact. But once I opened that, the inner Reed & Barton boxed looked like someone gave it a couple of kicks. Hard to understand why someone would take care to place an obviously beat up box in the middle of padded packaging. Very disappointed that my husband will not have his gift for his birthday.EDIT: After calling and speaking to costumer service at Amazon, they one day shipped me a new decanter. The second one arrived in excellent condition and my husband loved the gift. Changed my review from one star to four stars. Would have given five stars if the original hadn't come severely damaged.These are my favorite highball classes.Beautiful, sparkling clear wine goblets with blown glass character and perfect balance. Size is perfect for all wines. Wonderful company to deal with. Love the classic look and feel of the wine glasses! I will absolutely gift them on different occasions and have!
