*UPDATE*I reached out to Belleville; they had me take a picture of the damaged boot and email it to them. In turn, they sent me a pair of boots to replace the ones that failed. They explained that their boots are under warranty for a year. I would have liked to had that kind of support from the seller, but all is well that ends well.Hopefully, there won’t be anything thatrequiring any further updates to this review. The boots are comfortable, and Belleville boot company stood behind their product. After wearing these boots for 2 weeks, one of them is literally coming apart. I’ve emailed the seller. Will update. It’s been 2 days and I still haven’t heard back from the seller; so I called Belleville Boot company. They told me that the boots are under warranty for a year. They told me to take a picture of where the nylon ripped away from the leather, and a picture of the tag inside the boot, and they’ll send me another pair. I can not in good conscience recommend the seller, but I can tell you that Belleville stands behind their boots, at least for the first year. The pair that was sent to me must have had a flaw, bc I’ve read the reviews about how tough these boots are and how long you guys have worn them before having to replace them.It concerns me that I’ve sent 2 emails and left a voice mail with the seller and still have not heard a word from them. Oh well, all is well that ends well, right?Orig reviewI had initially purchased the Belleville 700s, I ordered them a half a size smaller than my shoe size which is a 9. When they arrived, and I tried them on, wouldn’t you know it, they were too small. So, I sent them back so that they could send me some size 9 narrow (that’s right, I have narrow feet, and it’s like pulling teeth trying to find boots that’ll fit me!). The good people at Belleville told me it would be 90 to 120 days before I’d receive the 700s in my size. I work in law enforcement and I have to have boots for my job, like now, not 120 days from now. So I found the 770s in 9 narrow and bought them. From what I understand, the 770 is the same as this one but they’re insulated. I’m still waiting on the 700s in my size as I’m quite sure that the 770s will get a bit too toasty come summer time in Birmingham, Al.That’s enough about my quest for narrow boots, on with the review. Once I received the 770s, I tried them on, and 9 narrow fit me perfect. So if you listen to anything other than buying these in your shoe size, you’ll end up sending them back as I did. These boots feel good, they do feel like a sneaker. The only other brand I’ve found that makes boots in a B width is Danner. The Danner Acadia is a nice boot, I’ve owned a pair. 2 things that turned me away from the Danners and toward Belleville, price and fit. The Acadia’s are now selling for over $300..Yes they’re nice boots, but no, $200 is my limit for tactical boots. The 2nd thing, the toe box in the Acadia’s was so constricted that it felt like my toes were being squeezed by a vice. Not so with the Belleville’s.If you’ve never owned a pair of Belleville boots, they’re a safe bet. They’re very comfortable, and from everything I’ve read, they’re durable and long lasting. I wouldn’t suggest the 770s for hot climates, but in cool weather, they’ll do fine.Normally wear a 13XW, saw some of the reviews saying these boots ran large so I ordered a 12.5 XW and they are still huge on my feet.....I got tired of overpriced Chinese manufactured boots from well-known tactical brands wearing out in under a year so I decided to give these a chance. Initial thoughts- way Larger than normal sizing, very well built, very hefty feel to them, clearly using high grade materials..... I cannot speak to longevity just yet although I will update this review in about a year. Two things I did notice that initially didn't exactly impress me, first the right boot had an annoying popping noise for about the first two to three hours which then seems to have just disappeared. I was reading online that that can happen when there is an air bubble in the material trying to work its way out. Not a deal breaker but I would kind of expect better fit and finish from such an expensive boot. Second thing I noticed that kind of caught me off guard was right out of the box the insole didn't fit properly into the right boot and required trimming, went to put my foot into the boot it was quite clear that there was something keeping the insole from properly seating, turns out it was almost a half inch longer than the insole in the left boot. Not sure how that happens but once again, I would expect far better fit and finish in such an expensive boot. I almost get the feeling these Boots may be somewhat hand-fitted/assembled based solely on the inconsistencies from one boot to another. These Boots are dramatically stiffer than most foreign manufactured boots and definitely do not have that plush pillow top feeling but I suspect the dramatically overbuilt construction of these boots will lead to a long lifespan hopefully several years. I cannot get more than one year out of 5.11, Bates, Danner, Lapolice gear or Under Armor and usually by the end of that year they have holes in them and I can see my sock. Fingers crossed these will do better!
